MUSEUM OF BAROQUE

Opened in 2015, officially operational since June 2016, the boutique museum represents the baroque cavalry from Šmarje pri Jelšah up the hill to one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Europe, also listed in publications as one of the Seven wonders of Slovenia.

CHURCH OF ST. ROK

As the legend goes, the church was built as a monument to the end of the plague in the 17th century. The zigzag path between the little chapels up the steep slope represents The way of the cross, and brings you to the top of the hill with the church itself and a beautiful view of the town Šmarje beneath it.

BOČ

The highest hill of this part of our country has two peaks just 5 min walk apart from each other. You can also climb the watchtower on one of them, that offers an amazing view of the bigger part of Eastern Slovenia.

OPEN AIR MUSEUM ROGATEC

The biggest local open-air museum in Slovenia preserves the heritage of vernacular architecture and folk culture, and was nominated in 1997 for European museum of the year.

TERME OLIMIA

One of the most prestigious wellness and family-fun centers of Central Europe is only 15 min away from Šilec B&B. Thermal water is well recognized to be good for one’s health and well-being.

DONAČKA MOUNTAIN

A peak just north of a small town Rogatec with astonishing views and a stone cross at the top.

The 12th century castle offers many exhibitions and events up to date and an interesting trip down the history path.

ROGAŠKA SLATINA

A walk down the parks and promenades of Rogaška Slatina offers a relaxing and all-round interesting experience (with a possibility of hiring a local tourist guide).
